le roi est morte

My king is dead, but it took a lot longer! Yep, my new chess strategy is all D- fence. This allows me to be in the game for a greater period of time. Gone are my clever schemes to capture his key players, surround his royalty, march off with his army…Never happens. And, I’m just a pathetic loser. (I’m an obnoxious winner, too, but that’s another story.) This new plan gives me hope. Tomorrow is another day! Another game. Long live the King!
And, if you haven’t already, see The King’s Speech: Brilliant.

Did you know the speech was actually recorded at Government House in my home town of Winnipeg, Canada?   What a wonderful connection to a great story.   Perhaps I’ll drop by for a cuppa tea.
